Is UFC Betting Legal in Mexico?
Sports betting is legal in Mexico through operators holding permits from SEGOB’s Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos. Online sportsbooks must be tied to a federal permit. Minimum age is 18. Winnings may be subject to withholding tax, so check the operator’s terms.
How to Bet on UFC in Mexico
- Choose a locally licensed site. Examples include Caliente, Codere, Betcris. Check the licence on the SEGOB – Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos website before you sign up.
- Register and verify. You’ll confirm your identity and age (18+). This is required by law and protects your withdrawals.
- Deposit in MXN. Use a local payment method, and set a deposit limit straight away.
- Find UFC under MMA or Combat Sports. Main events offer moneyline, method of victory, round and distance markets; smaller fights may only have a moneyline.
- Check the start time. Most UFC cards run on US time, so they often land overnight or the next morning in Mexico (see the table below).

How to Check a Betting Site Is Licensed in Mexico
- Look for the licence notice. Licensed sites show their licence number and regulator in the footer (in Mexico, that’s SEGOB – Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos).
- Check the official register. Regulators publish lists of licensed operators. If a brand isn’t listed, don’t deposit.
- Watch for warning signs. No identity checks, crypto-only payments, huge bonuses with unclear terms, or a site that tells you to use a VPN are all red flags.
- Use the safety tools. Licensed operators must offer deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion. Set them up on day one.
Smart UFC Betting Tips
- Wait for weigh-ins. Missed weight, short-notice replacements and bad weight cuts move lines on Friday.
- Compare odds. Prices on the same fight can differ between licensed operators. Taking the better line adds up over a year.
- Respect styles. Wrestlers vs strikers, cardio in five-round fights and reach advantages matter more than hype.
- Be careful with live bets. Odds change fast between rounds. Decide your plan before the fight starts.
- Keep parlays small. Each extra leg multiplies the bookmaker’s margin.

UFC and Mexico
Mexico has produced UFC champions Brandon Moreno (flyweight) and Alexa Grasso (women’s flyweight), plus fan favourite Yair RodrÃguez. Mexico City has hosted UFC “Noche” events. Mexico doesn’t use daylight saving time, so its gap to US Eastern Time changes during the year.

- Chasing losses on late fights. Set a budget in MXN before the prelims and stick to it.
